Toronto R&B-pop star and dancer Shawn Desman has a brand new album, his fourth studio release called Alive, which came out Tuesday, and his first Canadian headlining tour started Thursday.
But, in an unusual move, there was also an accompanying mini-movie called Alive, last Tuesday night on MuchMusic, featuring six of the album’s ten songs. “It’s about giving them extra content,” Shawn said. The scripted mini-movie was about a dancer from the small town of Fergus, Ont., who comes to Toronto to audition for Desman playing himself. It also starred Heartland’s Kaitlyn Leeb, Degrassi’s Melinda Shankar and Lost Girl’s K.C. Collins.
